Hello All
i am new to Saigon from Australia. I brewed for many years in Australia and have decided to start up my hobby again here in Saigon but I have no idea where I can buy brewing equipment. Ideally I'd like a simple kit with fermenting bin etc and I also need a bottle capper. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?

Is there a place to buy a simple home brewing kit in Saigon? Where would I guy the hops and other ingredients?

I'm new around here, and trying to get back into fermenting a bit. I used to homebrew a *lot* in Korea and won't be in Vietnam long enough to really invest in the equipment for making beer, but I do want to get into making mead, and would like to meet up at some point with brewers around. The problem is equipment. Unlike in Korea, it doesn't seem to be very easy to find proper fermentation vessels here! Does anyone know where I might be able to find some? I prefer glass, though a plastic top can be okay. I need something with a capacity of 6-8 liters? Maybe 10L would be okay, and I suppose I could get by with 4L gallon jugs if need be. I have stoppers and airlocks (and a hydrometer), just need a couple of jugs to ferment in, oh, and some siphon hose. (I assume I can buy a bigger bottle of iodine at any sizeable pharmacy, for making iodophor solution?) Oh, and I am planning on using Saison yeast, since it's so adapted to higher temperatures. When I have a good yeast cake built up I'll be happy to share... Saison yeast being ideal for tropical brewing, if you know what to do with it anyway, I'm surprised Saigon isn't a hotbed of Saison brewing... and would be all to happy to help kick that off, if people are interested. Would also be willing to join in on a group brewday at some point, if anyone's up for that. We used to do those in Korea and they're a great way to meet up and have fun and share the work as well as the fruits of the labour, eventually.
