The little system (50 liter) that we fired up last night for the first time. Chilling the wort here was a nightmare. Can't wait to get my pumps that can take a higher temp so I can run it through the plate chiller. Attachments:

Hi there, I'm Charlie, a home brewer in Hanoi. What pump and chiller are you getting? Where are you getting it from?
Regards

Thanks Daniel, this is Max. I'll send you some better pictures from when we do another batch this weekend.
Hi Charlie. I believe I got the pump from a shop on su van hanh off 3 thang 2. The plate chiller was sent to me, but I made an immersion chiller here out of copper coil.
The pump is pretty strong, and will be good for larger batches, but I can still slow it down for vorlaufing with my 50 liter system. It's rated at .3 hp. I thought it would be too strong, but it's fine. The only problem I have is that it's only rated to 80 degrees C.

I had a problem with a chest freezer that I was using as a fermenter enclosure. One side was about 10 degrees C colder than the other. If you ever run into this problem, pump the cold air from one side to the other with a fan. They are almost identical temps now. 19.6 and 20.4.

There is a company in District 4 who sells plate heat exchanger. Here is the link www.traodoinhiet.com/en/loai-tam-han-kin/I have not checked them out yet. I won't be back in Saigon till mid August so it would be great if anyone in Saigon can check it out and report back here. As for the pump, check out this link www.thietbisaoviet.com/bom-tu-iwaki/bom-tu-iwaki-md-series-70.htmlThe pump is Japanese and manufactured here. Their office is in Binh Thanh District. They are magnetic pump and very similar to the ones I am using at the moment.

I've seen these pumps before, and they can only handle up to 80 degrees C. Maybe they have a higher temp pump that can be used in transferring of hot wort to a plate heat exchanger.

The second link. The first link doesn't really give too much info in the pumps. I'd need to email or call them.

I have recently tried big man beers mini keg, they have both black and blond beer on 2 liters keg. Deposit was 200 000, so guess the price is a bit lower. I have also tried saigon bia hop on 2 liter mini keg.. both beers are made of make and hops. Blond is not funny but the black beer from Big man is competitive with legend beers black beer and much cheaper.. Deposit for saigons mini keg was 180 000, i can ask them and see what price they give for 20 empty mini kegs..
