Awesome! Glad to be here!
I'm Allen. I'm from North Carolina in the U.S. and I've been a homebrewer for about two years--before moving to Hanoi 4 months ago!
I'm eager to start brewing here--maybe tiny 1-gallon batches because I have such a tiny kitchen. But mostly I'm concerned about being able to find the ingredients! I would love nothing more than a nice, hoppy IPA!
I've started to make a mental list of where to find equipment. There's a place in the Old Quarter I've seen that sells big metal pots that would be perfect for boiling, and there's a place near Xuan Dieu that sells glass containers that would be perfect for fermenting. I'm collecting used plastic Viet Ha bottles for bottling, and there's not much to find besides ingredients!
Anyway, I look forward to making acquaintances with everyone!
-Allen

Hi all, i am Jonathan and have been very interested in beer and brewing but most of my time i am out and chasing new breweries. I have them listed at my site www.beervn.com Tonight i will visit a newly discovered Goldmalt and on Tuesday another one that opened a month ago. Goldmalt has now 10 brewpubs in Hanoi so there is a lot of tasting to do... I have been in contact with many breweries and asked for other beers and hoped they would agree on doing something new. Some small things happened and they have opened their eyes but i think its up to all home brewers to show them how to do it and then later on we can have a locally brewed ale in Vietnam which i am waiting for. I am crazy into beer and want to have more to choose from.

Hey everyone,
Thanks for setting up this forum, Jonathan, should be a great place to get the community brewing together! I'm Ashley, I started brewing only about 6 months ago using the BIAB method and I'm really enjoying it. Like Allen, my ideal is a nice hoppy IPA so I'm looking forward to getting started! I'll be moving to Hanoi in early August, it would be great to meet up with you guys.
Crazy Beer, do you sell hops on your website?

Hey everybody,
I'll be arriving in Hanoi on the 5th August for at least two years and it would be great to meet with some fellow homebrewers and learn a thing or two. Obviously I haven't got a clue about venues so please share your suggestions. Are people free to meet on the 8th or 9th August?
Looking forward to seeing you guys soon!
Cheers! Ashley
